A different pattern than property-standards files
Beach, trail, and parking work concentrates when the public is actually using those spaces. For most Grey-Bruce and shoreline municipalities that is late spring through early fall, plus weekends and holiday weekends. Winter coverage, if any, is set in the contract.
Officers are appointed by the municipality. They enforce the parking, waterfront, park, and trail by-laws that are in force — not a generic “seasonal product.” Education and compliance come first; tickets and further action follow the tools the municipality has authorized.
Patrol routes, post locations, and exact shift calendars stay internal. Residents report problems through dispatch or the concern form; they do not need a public map of where units are parked.
How this sits beside municipal law enforcement
This work is still municipal law enforcement. It is listed separately because the hours, equipment, and public contact pattern are different from year-round property-standards and zoning files. Some clients buy it as a seasonal add-on; some fold it into a full-year MLE contract.
Animal control remains its own service line. A trail or beach assignment does not replace stray-dog coverage.
